Hatch Smith

Vice President

Hatch Smith is a Vice President of Commerce Street Capitals bank development group and is responsible for helping community bank management teams raise capital for initial and secondary offerings. He works on-site with each bank and has helped raise more than $50 million in capital for financial institutions.

Mr. Smiths previous experience was as Vice President of lending and accounting at Mineral Financial Services in Austin, Texas, where he oversaw the initial formation of the firms niche lending business lending to individuals against oil and gas royalties. He helped design the evaluation models, marketing strategy and lending process for the new service. Prior to that role, Mr. Smith sold more than $1 billion in municipal bonds in three years while at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York and Boston. As a sales associate he co-managed accounts for long- and short-term products and derivatives, and he provided coverage to funds. He also fulfilled two summer internships at JPMorgan Chase in the public finance and credit departments.

For 10 years, Mr. Smith was the owner of a cattle trading business, Quarter Eleven Cattle Co., based in Llano, Texas. He is a trained auctioneer and has run auctions for livestock shows, charity events and fundraisers throughout Texas and New York. Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in New York, completing a pre-med/pre-vet itinerary with an emphasis in business. He also spent one year at Bridge-Linguatec in Argentina to study Spanish. Mr. Smith holds multiple securities licenses.
