William D. “Tex” GrossMr. Gross is the Founder of Commerce Street Capital, LLC and founded the Dallas office of SAMCO Capital Markets, Inc. in 1988. Mr. Gross has created and developed new opportunities and lines of business for the firm and has built the firm’s reputation as a leading investment bank specializing in financial institutions. He also serves on the Boards and Investment Committees of Service Equity Partners, LP, Genesis Bank Fund, LP, Commerce Street Income Partners, LP, and Commerce Street Lending Partners, LP. These are private equity and hedge funds which invest in banks and engage in real estate finance.
Previously, Mr. Gross held senior positions with Southwest Securities, Schneider, Bernet and Hickman, Cullen Frost Bank and Merrill Lynch and Co. He has been actively engaged in the securities business for over forty (40) years, focusing on fixed income investments for institutions and high-net worth individual clients. In addition, Mr. Gross has specialized in merger and acquisition activities involving banks, thrifts and other financial institutions since 1986.
Mr. Gross served on the Board of Directors of Penson Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: PNSN) until January, 2008. He received a BA from the University of Texas and holds multiple securities licenses. He currently serves on the Development Board of the University of Texas.
